MINUTES OF MEETING OF HOGSTHORPE PLAYING FIELDS COMMITTEE

Apologies for Absence
Apologies were received with valid reasons from Cllr E Smith & Mrs J Ainsworth.

Declarations of interest under the Localism Act 2011 – being any pecuniary interest in agenda items not previously recorded on Members’ Register of Interests -
None were received.

Minutes of the meeting held on 04 December 2025
The minutes of the meeting of the Playpark Committee held on 04 December 2025 were approved and signed by the Chair of Hogsthorpe Parish Council as a true and accurate record.

Frequency of Committee Meetings
It was RESOLVED that there was no need to have monthly meetings of the Playpark Committee during the winter months as the park is not used due to the weather, and there are no Car Boot sales to report on from December until the end of March. It was RESOLVED that meetings would be held every other month, the next Playpark meeting will take place on 05 March 2026 and that the Playpark Committee would monitor any changes needed to the frequency of meetings once the Car Boot sales had taken place.

Car boot report & Car boot signs update
It was NOTED that the Car Boot sales would begin at the end of March/beginning of April and be outside if the weather allows otherwise, they will take place inside Hogsthorpe Village Hall. Car Boot sales every Sunday 09:00-13:00. It was RESOLVED to order four signs advertising the Car Boot as above.

Maintenance – progress update
The following items were NOTED.

Bent bar – Mr M West will be completing this with a colleague once the weather is better.

Clear up and clean changing rooms – Mr G Ainsworth to complete this once the weather is better.

Clear out of shed - Mr G Ainsworth to complete this once the weather is better.

Replacement of bulbs in changing rooms and outside light - The electrician will be visiting to complete this week beginning 19 January 2026.

Playing fields sign – If the original 5 MPH and Keep Left sign can be located it can be erected approximately two inches over from the manhole cover (Parish Council lands side) so that the manhole cover is not constantly driven over and damaged.

Report update from inspection and PAT testing, lighting progress update
It was NOTED that the electrician will be visiting to complete this week beginning 19 January 2026.

Item for next agenda
This was an additional item sent in by Cllr E Smith, Chair of Playpark Committee for discussion. This was entitled Newsletter and Cllr Smith proposed that they produce a monthly newsletter outlining events taking place in the village to be posted in the village shop, church, tea rooms, noticeboards and Village Hall.
It was AGREED this was a good idea and would be discussed at the Parish Council Meeting and to go on their agenda for February.
