MINUTES OF MEETING OF HOGSTHORPE PLAYING FIELDS COMMITTEE 
 HELD ON TUESDAY 2nd APRIL 2025

1. Present: Ellen Smith (Chairman) Diane Hanson Matthew West, Fran Wilson & Kath Hayes (Secretary)

2. Apologies:    None

3. Minutes of meeting   Minutes of 5th March were approved and signed.

4. Finance
a) Year End accounts to 31at March 2025 showing  a balance of £5507.65 were approved.
b) Payment was made via cheque for £103.30 to ELDC for the 2025/26 Rates.
c) Discussion took place on what

5. Community flyer
Flyers for distribution throughout the village had been printed and ES and MW agreed to deliver them.

6. Car Boots
a) Car boots were once again in progress every Sunday.  
b) It was proposed to serve hot food but before doing so, a Hygiene Certificate was required.
c) Signage – Some new signage had been painted up.  Further signage may be required.

7. Maintenance
a) Playpark equipment repairs – Awaiting confirmation as to when these can be commenced.  Grant of £1000 already in the bank.
b) Painting of the equipment is in hand at a cost of £500 and had already been started.
c) A further clean up day had not yet been arranged.
d) The area behind the changing rooms had been cleared at a cost of £200.
e) The changing rooms still had items which needed clearing, in particular the speeding cameras which were awaiting erection of poles from LCC.
f) DH had completed a monthly maintenance checklist from which it was noted that litter bins needed monitoring, weeds to be pulled out, back gates required repair and 1 fence bar was damaged.  Most of the repairs were waiting for Online Playgrounds (item 7a) to commence.  Other items would be checked after painting and clear up was completed.

8. Report for Annual Community Meeting
It was agreed that FW would deliver the playpark report at the Parish Community Meeting.  KH to prepare financial report.

9. Future plans
a) There are funds available from the football foundation.  KH to make enquiries about small football posts and nets.
b) Suggestions for new playpark equipment were a zip wire – KH to look into costs.
c) The school has agreed to hold their sports day on the field.  It was agreed that they can use the changing rooms as required.

10. Date of next meeting
Next meeting was set for Wednesday 7th May 2025 at 5.00 p.m. before commencement of the Parish Council AGM meeting and the Parish Community Meeting.
