Victoria Tavern - UPDATE

In pursuance of its powers under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, the East Lindsey District Council has refused to permit the carrying out of the proposed development for the following reason:

1 The proposal would result in the loss of a public house, which is a community facility that contributes to the social wellbeing and sustainability of the local community. Insufficient evidence has been submitted to demonstrate that the facility is no longer viable or that there is no realistic prospect of its continued operation, and no marketing evidence has been provided to demonstrate that the premises has been actively marketed for continued community, leisure or economic use. As such, the Local Planning Authority cannot be satisfied that the loss of the facility is justified. The proposal is therefore contrary to SP14 of the East Lindsey Local Plan and the National Planning Policy Framework.

POSITIVE AND PROACTIVE STATEMENT:-

The Local Planning Authority has considered the issues raised, and the relevant Development Plan policies and relevant paragraphs in the National Planning Policy Framework have been taken into account but conclude in this case that a solution to the matters set out in the reason for refusal above, is not available in this case.
