HELD ON Wednesday 6th November 2025

3. Minutes of the meeting: The Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 1st October 2025 were approved and signed by the Chair as a true and accurate record.

5. Car Boot report:

Car Boot stalls have been indoors from October, and they are fully booked.

The Car Boot increase in price will go up from £4.00 to £5.00 effective from January 2026 and the Clerk will produce a letter on headed paper for Cllr Smith to give to stall holders.

 

6. Maintenance – progress update

a) Patching of Playpark ground resin – this has been completed and the invoice passed to the Clerk for payment.

b) Bent bar – one side of this has been done and waiting for the other side to be done with specialist equipment.

c) Clear up and clean changing rooms – Greg Ainsworth will take bins to local tip three at a time.

d) Clear out of shed – this will be incorporated with the changing room clean up.

e) Replacement of bulbs in changing rooms and outside light – Greg Ainsworth has sourced a qualified electrician to complete this and has reported that the quote is £400.00 with an extra £2.00 per item for PAT testing as in Item 7. The Council unanimously RESOLVED to accept the quotation, and Greg Ainsworth will action the repairs.

f) Oiling of shutters – Completed.

g) Playing fields sign – Cllr D Hanson is waiting for a quotation and Cllr E Smith will ask Vistaprint for a quotation. ELDC has not replied regarding signage at street level.

 

 

7. Risk assessments for changing rooms (including checking of showers, PAT testing, lighting progress update – Greg Ainsworth has this in hand as reported in the previous minute. Cllr D Hanson will complete the risk assessments and report back at the next meeting.

 

 

8. Forward Planning update – It has been noted that the tarmac around the manholes at the entrance to the village hall are weakening due to being driven oven and this is unavoidable, this has nothing to do with the work already completed there. The Clerk is to ask ELDC if they are able to raise the height of the tarmac to the manhole cover to make this safe.

 

Cllr F Wilson will report back at the next meeting on the discussion with the new Principal of Hogsthorpe Junior Academy regarding them using the playing field after the meeting that she and the Clerk will be attending at the School in November.

 

Clerk is to enquire when & where the Village Hall AGM took place or is taking place.

 

 

9. Next meeting – The next meeting will take place on Thursday 4th December 2025 from 5.00pm onwards.
