Others: Cllr M Banks

1. Minutes of meeting of 7th October 2020 were approved and signed by V Worley.

2. Maintenance

a) Fenland repair to swing – Cllr Wildman confirmed that the repair to the crossbar of the swing had been carried out today. Fenland had pointed out that two of the upright posts were showing signs of rotting and would need to be repaired in the future. However, it was now legally compliant. Cllr Wildman informed the meeting he had asked Fenland for a quote for the posts to be replaced in the future.

b) Play park inspection – It was agreed the Secretary should go ahead and arrange the annual inspection of the park now the swing had been repaired. Cllr Wildman to liaise with the inspectors.

3. Correspondence

An e mail has been received from a 15-year-old villager requesting football nets be placed on the goalposts so he does not lose his ball over the perimeter fence of the field. It was agreed that it was not possible to leave the nets up on a permanent basis due to the health and safety risks it imposed and the risk of vandalism. However, it was agreed they should be made available for organised matches or kick arounds. The Secretary reported a villager has offered to run an organised kick about when the weather improves early next year. This would have to be subject to satisfactory checks including an enhanced DBS check with child barring.

4. Date of next meeting

As the country is about to go into national lockdown until 2 December it will not be possible to use the Village hall on 2 December. It was agreed that the meeting be postponed to the following Wednesday 9 December at 6pm.
