MINUTES OF MEETING OF HOGSTHORPE PLAYING FIELD COMMITTEE
HELD ON Wednesday 06 May 2026
Present: Cllrs E Smith, M West, Mr G Ainsworth & Annie Maynard (Clerk) and one member of the public. In attendance: Cllr M Poole.
PP26/010. Chair’s Welcome: The Chair welcomed everybody to the meeting and thanked them for attending.
PP26/011. Apologies: None
PP26/012. Declarations: To receive Declarations of Interest under the Localism Act 2011
None
PP26/013. Minutes of the meeting: The Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 22nd April 2026 were approved and signed by the Chair as a true and accurate record.
PP26/014. Finance: Hogsthorpe memorial recreation and playing field account for January, February, March and April 2026 were deferred until the next meeting due to not being able to access the account.
It was NOTED that as the bank have not yet given access to their online system to the Proper Officer, the detailed breakdown will be reported to the next meeting of this committee.
PP26/015. Car Boot report & Car Boot signs
The Chair reported that car boot signs are now up and visible, however signs with arrows pointing to the boot sale location are also needed. The Chair will look into this matter.
The car boot sales are going very well and all pitches have been taken by vendors. Mr Ainsworth is to be issued with a set of keys for the changing rooms in order to carry out maintenance work in those rooms. The padlock on the back gate of the changing rooms is stuck and needs to be removed. The Chair will purchase new locks.
PP26/016. Playpark - Report on Repairs
The swing is to be taken down as the timber frame is rotten, and new rubber flooring will be needed to fill the holes. Mr Ainsworth will obtain quotes for materials and labour to complete the task. It was noted that the swing and its structure will be stored in the changing rooms until the new frame is installed.
It was RESOLVED that a new metal “Hogsthorpe Playing Field” sign to indicate the location of the field is needed, and that the Chair will obtain quotes.
It was noted that a new pole is needed for the existing sign for the playing field. Mr Ainsworth said that he will supply this.
PP26/017. Maintenance - progress update on any matters outstanding
The glass window is ready and will be installed by Mr Ainsworth in due course.
PP26/018. Report - update from inspection and PAT testing, lighting progress update
These items are yet to be done. The Clerk will now organise this work.
PP26/019. Next Meeting – 5:00pm Wednesday 03 June 2026, Hogsthorpe Village Hall.
