MINUTES OF MEETING OF HOGSTHORPE PLAYING FIELDS COMMITTEE
HELD ON TUESDAY 5th MARCH 2025

- Apologies: None
- Minutes of meeting Minutes of 2nd February were approved and signed.
- Finance
The balance at the bank at the end of February showed a balance of £4581.
The grant of £1000 had not yet been received into the bank.
There were no payments of accounts but the direct debit for electricity of £49.56 for February had been paid.
- Community flyer
KH presented a draft of a flyer to be distributed around the village asking for help with the Playing fields. The committee agreed to this wording and it would be presented to full council for their approval.
- Car Boots
It had been arranged that car boots/table tops would be held indoors throughout the March period. However, the 9th March could not go ahead as there was another booking in the hall. Car boots would now be held every Sunday until the end of the year and would be held indoors in inclement weather.
It was thought to be better if the back doors to the village hall could be open during warm weather so that a flow from the field to the village hall could take place. – KH to check with village hall secretary.
Signage – It was agreed to make new signage to state “Car Boots, Every Sunday 10am to 2pm at Hogsthorpe Village Hall – committee to investigate supplier.
The Chairman and Matthew West left at this stage.
- Maintenance
- Playpark equipment repairs – An order for repairs to the equipment at a cost of £2506 had been submitted to Online Playgrounds. Their lead time was 8 weeks but efforts would be made to do the work sooner, trying to get it completed before the Easter holidays. The grant of £1000 from the District Councillor had been authorised but had not yet been received in the bank.
- Painting of the equipment date could not be confirmed in the absence of the ES and MW. It was agreed in her absence to check what other sources of workmen were available to get this work completed. DH to investigate this.
- Items 7c) clean up day, 7d) removal of items behind changing rooms, 7e) clear up and clean changing rooms could not be reported on in the absence of ES and MW.
- A monthly maintenance checklist had been produced. DH agreed to get these done.
- Future plans
There are funds available from the football foundation. Suggestions for playpark were zip wire, skate park, basket ball. Future plans on hold until more committee members come forward.
- Date of next meeting
Next meeting was set for Wednesday 2nd April 2025 at 5.00 p.m. before commencement of the Parish Council meeting.
